Our law offices were opened in 1990 by Jay I. Bernholtz.
Mr. Bernholtz attended University of Toronto to complete his undergraduate degree, graduating with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in 1974.
He then continued on to the University of Windsor Law School, graduating with his LL.B. in 1977.
Mr. Bernholtz was called to the bar in 1979. During the summer months of 1976 and 1977, Mr. Bernholtz attended Civil Law programs at the University of Sherbrooke and University of Ottawa, respectively.
In addition, Mr. Bernholtz completed the Canadian Securities Course with Honours in 1981, and traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange prior to opening his practice.
In early 2007, Jay I. Bernholtz, Barrister & Solicitor expanded its offices to include a Newmarket office to better reach a growing customer base in the region. The Newmarket operations were ultimately consolidated to the Markham location.
Under the direction of Jay I. Bernholtz and his employees, the law firm has since seen further expanded in the Markham area, taking over the operations of a few other legal practices.
